Is the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Slowly Dying?

Friday, December 28th, 2012

The watchdog group Humane Watch.org recently posted an article and gave some interesting information regarding the largest anti-hunting group in the world – or so they claim.

Here is some of the information they gave us:

1. The HSUS’s financial support dropped by $8.5 million in 2011.

2. Their report also notes that the HSUS’s overall total revenue actually dropped by 10% thanks to declining public support and losses in investment income.

3. The report also notes that HSUS had fundraising-related expenses of $48.1 million, or a whopping 38 percent of its total budget, in 2011.

4. The HSUS added another $2.4 million to its pension plan, bringing the total to about $17 million since Wayne Pacelle took over as CEO in 2004. We see that their first priority isn’t protecting animals, it’s protecting the top execs future retirement plans.

5. The claim that the HSUS has millions of followers has also come under serious questioning. It seems that HSUS’s “All Animals” magazine had a circulation of only about 530,000. The publication is viewed as a good estimate of HSUS’s true membership size, since the magazine is included with a $25 paid HSUS membership. (HSUS likes to claim it has a “constituency” of 11 million, which inflates its influence greatly.)

Seeing information like this is encouraging. It shows that the public is starting to see the HSUS’s true colors and what their true agenda really is. Let’s keep exposing them. – Hunters Against PETA

California Gets Closer to Banning Hunting With Dogs

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

We pulled this article from the USSA’s website. Thanks for everything you guys do.

California Senate Bill 1221, banning the use of dogs to hunt bear and bobcats, is scheduled to be heard in the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife on Tuesday, June 26th at 9 a.m. in Room 4202.

The bill, sponsored by the nation’s largest anti-hunting organization –the Humane Society of the United States– has already passed out of the California Senate.

Bear and bobcat hunting with hounds is a humane and effective means to hunt bear and bobcat, helping control the state’s growing bear populations. Nearly 60 percent of the states that have bear hunting seasons allow the use of dogs and 70 percent of states that have more than 2,000 bears (like California) allow them.

“This bill is just the latest assault on hunters by the anti-hunting lobby’s biggest player, HSUS,” said Evan Heusinkveld, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance director of state services. “The bill ignores sound science and only serves to further the group’s ultimate goal of banning all hunting. California sportsmen need to do all they can to try and stop this bill.”

Take Action! California sportsmen must contact their state assembly members today and tell them to vote NO on Senate Bill 1221. Visit USSA’s Legislative Action Center to find your state assembly member’s contact information.

Thanks for the update and information USSA. All sportsmen in California and across America please take action and let these politicians know that this is not something that we will tolerate. – Hunters Against PETA

The HSUS Has 3,000 Animal Rights Attorneys On Tap

Tuesday, June 12th, 2012

The HSUS recently published it’s 2011 report and had some scary information and facts in it that all hunters/sportsmen should read and know.

What stuck out to us most was the fact that they have around 3,000 lawyers that will do pro-bono work for them.

Here’s what the President of the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) Wayne Pacelle had to say on his blog:

We are the best in the field at policy work and lobbying. We have a large and aggressive in-house litigation unit and more than 3,000 outside attorneys ready to do pro bono work for us,” Pacelle said.

They also have around a dozen in-house lawyers that are constantly fighting against us and trying to take away our hunting rights.

They also gave us their top ten states for animal rights, no surprise for most of these states:

Top Ten HSUS States are: California, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida and New York.

That should be an eye opener to all hunters/sportsmen. These animal rights activists are constantly fighting against our hunting rights. 365 days a year. – Hunters Against PETA
