It’s been awhile since we’ve updated our newsletter. There’s a lot of subjects that we could cover that would probably take up to 10 pages or more. We’re going to try and stick to the hottest topics and the most pressing issues and what we’re doing about them.

If you’re a hunter than obviously you’ve heard from someone or read on our site the serious threat wolves are to our big game animals here in the west. I’m sure you’ve also heard that wolves were put back on the Endangered Species List on August 5th. This is a setback in our fight to protect our big game animals from getting wiped out by the Canadian Gray Wolf.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect though. It wasn’t two days after we met with Secretary Salazar that the wolves were put back on the ESL. This way we know Secretary Salazar will not forget us or the questions we asked him. We continually send Secretary Salazar emails regarding this problem as well as many other problems that threaten our hunting rights.

Another problem that has been an issue lately is the ban on lead ammo. Some sportsmen might think that this is not a big deal or some sportsmen may actually agree with the ban. However the ban on lead ammo has nothing to do with the lead ammo itself, it has everything to do with putting tighter restrictions on our hunting rights. If we allow anti-hunting organizations to gain an inch here and there and we allow them to dictate to us how and when we can hunt, someday they’ll have complete control over our hunting rights and that’s a scary proposition to think about.

Make no mistake, the anti-hunting organizations are very clever and are not to be underestimated. Just like us sportsmen the anti’s have every kind of person working in their favor from politicians, lawyers, doctors, to scientists and they use millions of dollars and thousands of man hours to try and put a stop on hunting.

Our goal is not to bring doom and gloom and we fully believe in trying to be a positive influence for sportsmen. However we know the anti’s will never pull punches and will never stop fighting us so we must do the same.

Please do what you can by sending your opinions and ideas to Secretary Salazar, local politicians, and your local and federal Wildlife Resources.

The more opinions they hear make it harder for them to ignore us.

Please take care this hunting season and we wish everyone the best of success!
